How many businesses registered across cities in Lauderdale County in week ending Nov. 12, 2022?

There were 13 businesses that registered in cities within Lauderdale County in the week ending Nov. 12, 2022, according to the Alabama Secretary of State.

This is 44 percent more than the week before, when nine businesses were registered.

Florence registered the most businesses in Lauderdale County.

More than 99 percent of Alabama's businesses are considered small, with more than 47 percent of Alabama's employees working for a small business, according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

A Civic Economics study found $100 spent at a locally-owned business puts $47 back into the local economy while the total is just $13 for non-local businesses.
