DANGEROUS FREEZING TEMPERATURES for North Alabama beginning Thursday afternoon and lasting until at least Monday morning. Low temperatures at night in single digits and high temperatures during the day still below freezing. Please prepare to stay indoors and limit travel. Contact your neighbors, family & the elderly and ask if they have heat. BRING PETS INDOORS !!! Make sure you supply room temp water for any pets that remain outside and let them drink before the water freezes in the bowl. Check your vehicle levels for antifreeze. And pack emergency supplies in your vehicle if you do have to travel. Blankets and snacks in case you become stranded for any reason while driving. Limit your use of electricity to provide more for heating. Turn off unnecessary lights and electronics and wait about running your washing machine and dish washer until Monday if possible.
