Bank Independent, Member FDIC Celebrate Their 75th Anniversary of Serving North Alabama

Congratulations to Bank Independent, Member FDIC on their Economic Impact Announcement today to celebrate their 75th Anniversary of serving North Alabama!

Bank Independent celebrated its milestone achievement with the announcement of its new 95,000 sq. ft. Operations Center that will sit on 50 acres of former TVA property off Reservation Road.

“Today’s announcement is…. especially noteworthy that we are building on the ground of the original TVA where Presidents Roosevelt and Kennedy came to recognize our community’s monumental contribution to electrifying the entire Tennessee Valley.” - Macke Mauldin, Bank Independent President.

Penny Camp, Chief People Officer, stated that the heart behind this building was to continue cultivating a culture that fosters growth, collaboration, and elevates employees’ motivation to serve the community well.

“After 75 years, Bank Independent is still a community bank that makes local decisions. They now employ more than 600 team members in North Alabama who live and lead in their communities and invest their paychecks back into local businesses – something we as their Chamber greatly appreciate! Bank Independent leads by example, and whether you work for, bank with, or have been impacted by Bank Independent, we are all blessed by its presence.” - Caitlin Holland, President of the Shoals Chamber

We were positively honored to witness Bank Independent award $75,000 in grants to worthy nonprofits and startups across the North Alabama region. Their decision to invest in the dreams and actions of those across our region who give back in their communities is unrivaled and exemplary, and we are grateful to partner with them along the way.

Congratulations on 75 years, Bank Independent. We cannot begin to dream what your impact will be at 150 years young.
