Today we would like to intruduce Mrs English, our new Reading Coach. Mrs English is returning to us after a year at Wilson. Here is what she would like to share ….
Hello! I am Alicia English. I will be the Local Reading Specialist (Reading Coach) for K-3. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Athens State in 2004. In 2018, I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Library Media from University of West Alabama. I began my career in education in 2005 as an aide at Cloverdale Junior High School. While there, I also taught 1st and 2nd Grades. When the school closed in 2012, I transferred to LCHS. I taught 1st Grade with a year in 3rd Grade until 2021. For the 2021-2022 school year I was hired as the Reading Coach at Wilson School. I am thrilled to be able to come back to what I feel like is “home” to help students achieve at the best of their ability. My husband’s name is Chuck, and we have a 4 year old son, Grayson, who is our true blessing from God. I love to read, go to yard sales, fish, work word puzzles, and jigsaw puzzles. I look forward to an outstanding year at LCES!
