Colbert County Schools Appreciate SRO Deputies

Your Colbert County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officers .... The SRO Deputies attended training this week at the Alabama Association of School Resource Officers Conference in Orange Beach, Alabama.  In years past this training has been a big event full of knowledge and this year it included an on scene mock drill for an "Active Shooter Event" that was performed on a school campus there locally in Baldwin County.  This training will be exceptionally important for our Deputies that attended.  After they return I want to sit down with them and let them tell us everything they learned.  We take the protection of your children and the entire teaching staff in our Colbert County School System very seriously.  We also want you to know that these SROs are some of the most experienced Deputies in our Department.  Their years of active service range from 16 years to 42 years of law enforcement.  These are strong men with a kind heart that have always put the service of their communities first.  We currently have five Deputies that have moved from various positions in their career to now being full time SROs.  Their job is to be on campus at the schools throughout our county.   Four of these Deputies were able to attend the class this year and we thank them for their dedication to always being willing to learn new skills.  In the photo below are from left to right:

Dep Henry Green (22 yr LEO)

Dep James "Jimbo" Berryman (27 yr LEO)

Dep Wesley Withers (16 yr LEO)

Dep Kirk Jones (36 yr LEO)

And not able to attend the meeting is Dep Wayne Huguley (42 yr LEO)

Gentlemen, it is an honor to work with you and our entire Sheriff's Office thanks you for your service.
