Alabama’s best school districts are highlighted in a new list from ranking site Niche. The rankings are based on state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores and teacher quality. Once again, Muscle Shoals City Schools ranked in the Top 10 in Alabama!
USDA Extends School Lunch Waivers
On October 9, 2020, the USDA extended flexibilities to allow free meals to continue to be available to all children throughout June 30, 2021. This unprecedented move is part of USDA’s unwavering commitment to ensuring all children across America have access to nutritious food as the nation recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Flu season is around the corner! We would like to encourage you to protect yourself and your family this season with an annual flu vaccine for everyone in your family who is 6 months and older. While the timing of flu season is unpredictable, seasonal flu activity can begin as early as October and last as late as May. CDC recommends that people get vaccinated by the end of October, if possible. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body that protect against influenza virus infection.
