Lauderdale Co School District recently issued the following announcement.
Underwood Elementary fifth grade students are learning the fundamentals of the U.S. Constitution and illustrating their ideas for a paper quilt. The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution begins with these words, "We the people." Lauderdale County School System art teacher, Dusty Yealock Farris, encourages her students in Mr. Chad Pruitt's hybrid class to reflect on the meaning of some of these phrases, illustrating their ideas and thoughts about our system of law in the United States:
- We the people
- Establish justice
- Promote the general welfare
- Secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity
- Judicial Branch
- Executive Branch
- Legislative Branch
