LEIGHTON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Read Across America Week - March 2-6

Leighton Elementary School recently issued the following announcement.

Dear Parents,

    We are celebrating Read Across America Week from March 2nd - 6th with books and cupcakes. The focus this year is to motivate everyone to read:  “You’re never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read with a child” by Dr. Seuss.  Cupcakes are $1.00 each.  All money is due by Tuesday, March 3rd, and cupcakes will be available on March 6th.  If you would like to order more, then please send a container for them. Other activities for the week are listed below.

Career Day

Pajama Day

Weird/Wacky Day

Favorite Book Character Day

Read with a Friend Day

Students will dress in their future career outfits.  They will read books about careers, biographies, and jobs.

 

Students will wear pajamas while visitors will read to them.

Last day to purchase cupcakes for $1.00.  

Students will wear weird/wacky socks and focus on reading about weird and wacky characters (graphic novels.)

At 2:00, students will participate in a favorite book character parade.  Remember to bring the book.

 

Cupcakes will be given out.

Students will bring and read to their stuffed animals.
